In Round Rock, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Texas run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. My new favorite sushi place! We came here because of the Purple Martin Party outside, and were very impressed by great staff, a beautiful clean interior, very good AYCE prices, and fantastic sushi and other food. The sushi looked and tasted very fresh, cut great, with the rice still warm, but everything was great. The portion sizes for certain items like the tempura were a lot smaller than expected, smaller than I'm used to at other AYCE sushi places, but that's a good thing! It would be disappointing if the portions were that small paid a la carte, but for AYCE it's great because the orders came very fast, and smaller plates for AYCE are very preferable for diversity of food and convenience of eating. However, the ice cream portions are pretty large, with no AYCE limit. Make sure not to order too much ice cream, you might want to share! But if you do get some ice cream, consider pouring a Japanese soda or other soft drink on it, as the ice cream bowls are perfect for that (although the Japanese soda is not included with AYCE). Also, this is stupid, but this is the first sushi place we've seen where they played anime on a TV instead of just news and sports... we really liked that h

This place is the best value for an AYCE sushi lunch, including fountain drink it’s only $23.95! I wouldn’t say it’s the highest quality sushi in the area but for what I paid I am more than satisfied. I left absolutely stuffed. I suggest trying the spicy edamame, they come slathered in a garlicky spicy seasoned oil that is reminiscent of a viet-style crawfish boil seasoning - very flavorful, delicious! Wonderful service with a smile, servers actually understand and speak English fluently. I don’t think we ever went longer than 5 minutes without a check-back from our server and we were there during lunch rush. The food also didn’t take forever to hit our table like it did at another AYCE sushi place we’ve tried. I had such a great experience here!

For an AYCE weekday lunch at $23.95, this place offers solid, above-average value. The dining area is clean and the staff are friendly and attentive, which made the experience comfortable. The only small downside for me was that the sushi had a bit too much rice—less rice would make everything taste even better. The red bean ice cream was a lovely surprise and brought back childhood memories, something you don’t often find in the U.S. Definitely save room for dessert—the strawberry flavor was great too 😋

We went here on a coin flip and found a GEM! I got the all you can eat special for $32. On the weekends, draft beers are $4 (when I went, this included Electric Jellyfish!) They have happy hour during the week as well, but I don't remember when it starts. If you are looking for fresh, delicious ingredients, crisp, fresh veggies, great service, and experienced chefs.. You will find all of this at Kyoka Sushi Bar. So good!

Took the family out for all-you-can-eat sushi and decided to try Kyota. We've been to several AYCE sushi spots, so we have a pretty good sense of what makes a place stand out. Service: The service was excellent—super responsive and attentive throughout the meal. Atmosphere: The space is open and roomy, but it was very loud. It was hard to carry on a conversation, and at times we had trouble hearing our server. Food: Mixed reviews from the family overall. There were only two items I wouldn’t order again: the 911 roll and the peppered tuna. The 911 roll had an unpleasant fish paste that didn’t sit well with any of us, and the peppered tuna was drenched in a sweet sauce that overpowered the fish. On the bright side, several dishes were excellent. The Volcano Roll, Shaggy Dog, hibachi steak, and shrimp were all delicious. My wife especially enjoyed the chicken fried rice and everything else she ordered. Value: Great pricing—under $32 per AYCE, which is solid for an AYCE sushi experience. Overall: Definitely worth trying. While not everything hit the mark, there were enough standout dishes and good service to make it a place I’d recommend.
